Villorba, October 5, 2023 – SolidWorld GROUP proudly announces its support for the “Planck Team” from the Technical Institute and Scientific High School of Applied Sciences “Max Planck” in Villorba for the First Global Challenge, a prestigious world robotics competition to be held in Singapore from October 7th to 10th, 2023.

The competition

The First Global Challenge represents one of the most important international events in the field of robotics and technological innovation. Every year, teams of young talents from all over the world compete on globally relevant topics. This year, the theme of the competition is renewable energy management, a crucial challenge for the future of our planet.

The team

The “Planck Team”, led by electronic engineering professor Monica Disarò, is composed of young talents who have collaborated to design and build a robot capable of tackling challenges related to renewable energy management.

The team secured their spot in the global competition in Singapore after placing first in both the design and robot matches during the scrimmage at the First Tech Challenge in Italy. To enhance their preparation and gain more experience, the “Planck Team” also participated in the First Tech Challenge in Lyon, achieving first place there as well.

This result secured them a ticket to the global competition in Singapore, where they will compete against 190 teams from around the world.

The competition provides the students with a unique opportunity to put into practice not only advanced technical skills but also strong teamwork, thereby helping to develop problem-solving abilities and creativity required to tackle future challenges.
