Founded in 2013, Archimede Marine operates between Liguria, Tuscany and Campania with a multidisciplinary team of over 30 technicians. The core of the company is the refitting of luxury yachts, often characterised by missing or obsolete technical documentation, which requires extremely accurate reverse engineering activities.

“In our work, there is no margin for errors. Precision is everything,” explains Pasquale Prisco, head of the refitting area. “SOLIDWORKS, thanks to its parametric nature, allows us to manage design changes in a smooth and automated way, saving time and ensuring consistency between all components.”

The synergy between Dassault Systèmes’ 3D CAD software and Creaform’s 3D scanning systems allows Archimede Marine to obtain accurate measurements even on irregular surfaces, which is essential for the creation of customised components that are perfectly integrated with the existing vessel. A concrete example? The creation of bespoke porthole frames or carbon covers, which are impossible to achieve with original drawings that are often inaccurate or absent.

‘Creaform’s scanners offer astonishing accuracy even on unstable surfaces such as pantograph lifts,’ adds Pietro Raimondi, head of 3D scanning. ‘Combined with the modelling power of SOLIDWORKS, we have reduced design time and increased the reliability of our operations.’
