Flrence, May 22, 2023 – On Thursday, May 18, 2023, Bio3DModel, a SolidWorld GROUP company, successfully conducted the second seminar on 3D printing in the biomedical sector at the University of Florence The event took place during a lecture of the Master’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering, led by Professor of Engineering Monica Carfagni, and saw the participation of numerous students interested in the advanced applications of 3D printing technology in the healthcare sector.”
During the seminar, Bio3DModel speakers addressed various topics to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the possibilities of 3D printing in the biomedical sector. Engineer Giovan Battista Semplici introduced the Group and the two companies he works for, Bio3DModel and Bio3DPrinting, providing an overview of the activities and competencies of the Companies.
The Dr. Eng. Federica Giovannini explained the workflow at Bio3DModel, detailing how data obtained from CT and MRI scans can be transformed into multimaterial three-dimensional physical models. This presentation highlighted how 3D printing can contribute to the customization of healthcare solutions, enabling the production of anatomical models with specific patient pathologies.
Finally, Engineer Paulina Socha presented the advantages of J850 DAP and J5 Medjet printers in the medical field, focusing on the endovascular access aortic simulator project. This innovative project represents a significant step forward in medical education and demonstrates how 3D printing can be utilized to enhance learning.
The main purpose of the seminar was to provide students with an overview of the most advanced technologies offered by the market in the field of biomedical 3D printing, so they can utilize them in their professional careers.
Bio3DModel continues to play a significant role in innovation within the biomedical sector, promoting the adoption of 3D printing as an advanced diagnostic and therapeutic tool.
